We're thrilled to announce the newest cohort of leaders serving on the Student Leadership and Alumni Action Council (SLAAC)!🌟⁠

From now through April, these students will regularly meet to exchange ideas and ensure that Swipe Out Hunger's work is as effective as possible for the communities we serve. They will help us understand the barriers students face to food access and continue the growing momentum of student-led action across the country.⁠

This year — especially the last few months — has been difficult. The SNAP suspension during the government shutdown, the new reapplication requirement, and ongoing economic instability have created intense strain for those already struggling with food insecurity.⁠

Many of you have seen a significant increase in visits to your food pantries, with some reporting as high as a 50% increase compared to last year. What you do to improve food access on college campuses matters — perhaps now more than ever. ⁠
