SWIPE GRANTS ARE BACK FOR OUR FALL 2026 CYCLE!

We’re thrilled to announce that 2026 Swipe Grant applications are now open! Grant applications will be accepted from Monday, August 24 to Friday, October 2, 2026. Swipe Out Hunger campus partners can apply for a chance to be selected to receive a grant of up to $10,000 to support their food security initiatives in the 2026-2027 academic year. We can’t wait to uplift your program’s work to support students!

Be an official Swipe Out Hunger campus partner

Complete the 2026-2027 Campus Leader Survey
The application submitted belongs to a food security program (ex: basic needs hub, campus pantry, meal donation program, etc.)

HOW OUR GRANTS SUPPORT COLLEGE CAMPUSES

Northern Michigan University developed campus agriculture initiatives through two greenhouses and two indoor vertical freight farms. These initiatives yielded over 64 pounds of fresh produce, enough to provide approximately 320 servings of fresh greens for pantry patrons.

Student from Utah Tech University:
“The campus food pantry literally helped me make it to graduation. There were weeks I was choosing between buying gas or eating. Knowing I could get nutritious food on campus took so much stress off me that I could actually focus on my classes and finish strong.”

Student from Franklin & Marshall College:
“I earn about $8 an hour, which doesn’t go far after rent, utilities, and groceries. The food corner helps me offset costs, and I appreciate the cultural food options. I’ve made many nutritious meals thanks to this resource. Donors are truly helping low-income international students like me.”

APPLICATION TIMELINE

August 24, 2026: Application Opens
September 8, 2026: Swipe Grants Q&A Swipe Session
October 2, 2026: Application Closes

We will notify the selected recipients during the month of October!

Upon receiving a signed offer letter from the campus, we can begin the disbursement process. Our goal is to send all funds by the end of October.

REPORTING REQUIREMENTS

Campuses awarded a Swipe Grant will be asked to provide:

Impact Metrics: the total number of students served during the grant period
Spending Report: a clear breakdown of how grant funds were used
Student Impact Stories: real examples of how the funding made a difference for students
Feedback: insights on what worked well and suggestions to improve the Swipe Grants process
Evaluation: encouraging students to complete the annual Swipe Out Hunger Student Survey
